Dojo 1.6.1 release candidate 1 is available

Adam Peller-4
at http://download.dojotoolkit.org/release-1.6.1rc1/

1.6.1rc1 has many fixes, but has a special focus on IE9 and FF4 support, with both browsers released very soon after Dojo 1.6.0

See the 1.6.1 bugs here:

Please test 1.6.1rc1, especially against IE9 and FF4 browsers, and get us your feedback.  We will target next Wednesday's #dojo-meeting to ship the 1.6.1 release.

Adam

Any idea's if something changed with respect to contentPanes and layoutContainer that is now causing position:absolute being added to the contentPanes of a layoutContainer? This is something that started happening in 1.6.1 and 1.6.0 seems fine.

I am going to try to repro a test...

_LayoutWidget.js

dojo.forEach(children, function(child){
                        var elm = child.domNode,
                                pos = (child.region || child.layoutAlign);

                        // set elem to upper left corner of unused space; may move it later
                        var elmStyle = elm.style;
                        elmStyle.left = dim.l+"px";
                        elmStyle.top = dim.t+"px";
                        elmStyle.position = "absolute"; <<<< Why was this changed?

Caused by

http://bugs.dojotoolkit.org/changeset/24097/branches/1.6/dijit/layout/_LayoutWidget.js#file0

Making children position absolute overwrites the position relative that was being used before and so layout gets messed up

Dojox grid column sorting is broken in IE9.
You get a column resize cursor on anything but the sort column.
Seems similar to http://bugs.dojotoolkit.org/ticket/11613

Hi everyone !

I'm not sure it's the right place to post this so correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm looking for a good dojo programmer based in Europe for some dojo work. Mostly it will be for bug corrections.

Please contact me with a hourly price and a resume if you're interested !

Thanks !
Z.

For the layout issue in 1.6.1

Try this in 1.6 like below, and then in dojo 1.6.1

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/dojo/1.6/dojo/dojo.xd.js" djConfig="parseOnLoad: true"></script>

        <script type="text/javascript">
            dojo.require("dijit.layout.LayoutContainer");
            dojo.require("dijit.layout.ContentPane");

            dojo.addOnLoad(dojo.hitch(this, function() {
				var lc = new dijit.layout.LayoutContainer({}, "targetID");

				var msgTypePane = new dijit.layout.LayoutContainer();

				var cp1 = new dijit.layout.ContentPane({content: "div1"});
				var cp2 = new dijit.layout.ContentPane({content: "div2"});

				lc.addChild(cp1);
				lc.addChild(cp2);

				lc.addChild(msgTypePane);

				lc.startup();
	        }));
        </script>
        <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/dojo/1.6/dijit/themes/claro/claro.css" />
    </head>

    <body class=" claro ">
        <div id="targetID"></div>
    </body>

</html>

The grid header bug in IE9, would be nice to get this in for 1.6.1 too as it effects all grid usage.

I think you filed a ticket about this?   Anyway, can't see your example, the HTML got mangled.

1 Can the new release provide a method to eliminate the pause (so feel unsmooth) between two gfx translation loops?
2 Current onEnd event isn't reliable(see the example test of "dojox/fx/tests/example_backgroundPosition.html").
